Google Nexus 7 Tablet (2012) Gmail not working right

Ever since 2 days ago, my tablet hasn't been getting gmail notifications. It works sometimes but I either don't get them at all or get them way later. My phone seems to get them just fine, and my other tablet does too. Please help.

Hello,

Have you double checked your Google/Gmail sync settings? These would be located under Settings/Account & Sync (something to that effect)

Also tried clearing cache on the Gmail app itself?

Another option would be to uninstall any updates on the Gmail app thru Settings/Apps/Gmail and then see what happens, eventually the app will update itself again or you could probably force it by opening your Play Store app and checking updates.
