Google Nexus 9 Nov 3rd. $399 ?

Re: Nov 3rd. $399 ?

Thats awesome! Does still seem odd we don't have any big announcement from Google on this yet.

But we know its coming regardless :)

Battery life seems to be a concern for many but TBH, using the Tegra K1 on the NVIDIA Shield Tablet the battery life is pretty amazing. Granted that is the 32 bit version of the K1 but if its any indication of what the 64 bit version should be then I think battery life is gonna be fine.

Re: Nov 3rd. $399 ?

I am so ready for this, since my Nexus 7 (original) is basically my kids I need a new toy haha.

Re: Nov 3rd. $399 ?

$399 is a little higher than I expected. Was expecting $300-$350 mark, but still a good price. I'll be getting it.

Is this for 16gb or 32gb version? I didnt see that info in the article

Re: Nov 3rd. $399 ?

Eh. Was hoping for $300. Think I'll have to pass, for $400.

Which is a shame, because while I love my 2013 Nexus 7, it constantly reboots while I'm in the middle of browsing, and it's gotten beyond irritating. Was really hoping to replace it. Ah well. Guess I'll just have to continue to live with it. :/

Re: Nov 3rd. $399 ?

Well i suggest you keep using it until you have enough money to getting another one. patience is a virtue.

Re: Nov 3rd. $399 ?

I'm happy that we've got a release date and a few concrete details. I wish it was sooner but it's only a few weeks.

Do you think the release would be the same in the UK?

Re: Nov 3rd. $399 ?

For an in between price point and devastating performance the shield may be worth checking out. This thing is a beast, but 8" instead of 9". Also K1 (not Denver), and added bonuses for gaming. At $400 the new nexus is awesome but not sure if I'll jump or not; totally satisfied with NVIDIA.

Re: Nov 3rd. $399 ?

If it's going to be $399 for the 16gb model, it MUST have an SD card slot.

It'd be pointless to have a tablet that's restricted to 16gb when tablets are usually used for media consumption - especially for movies/videos which take up a lot of space.

That price is a bit too high for me also. I'm now leaning towards replacing my Nexus 7 (2012) with the new Lenovo Tab S8 for $199. Seems like a good deal for the money.

If it is 399 for 16gb I wonder what 64 gb will be, 599? Maybe they will have an card slot since they have fixed the security issues with cards

Re: Nov 3rd. $399 ?

My only concern is the storage size prices. I am kinda comfortable paying 399 for the tablet, but if the higher storage options are upwards of 399, not sure if I'd be able to swing it. We'll see...

Re: Nov 3rd. $399 ?

I have heard nothing about an SD slot but agree that its existence would be a huge help in making the decision to jump on this bandwagon.

Re: Nov 3rd. $399 ?

Has any of the Nexus tablets ever utilized SD storage?

None so far. It seems more plausible now that they've addressed some of the security concerns, but none of the performance concerns have been tackled by any OEM and I have a hard time seeing Google leading the charge on something like that. Support, yes. Encourage, hell no.

Re: Nov 3rd. $399 ?

If the $399 price is what is leaking then chances are it is the base model and knowing Google's focus on getting people to use cloud services this is for the 16Gb version. For me I need at least 32Gb considering games are now a few Gb in size. I have the 16Gb version of the OG Note 10.1 and I ran out of space on that in a flash - taught me a lesson to never buy 16Gb again.

Chances are I will be plopping down whatever it costs for a 32Gb version along with the keyboard case.

If the rumors are true we have just 2 days left to find out the real story!

For $399, I hope that the base model has 32gb storage, but I feel that won't be the case.

Re: Nov 3rd. $399 ?

I don't think there will ever be a Nexus with SD card slot. I'm wondering if they kept qi charging though. Shame that so few devices have adopted it.

Re: Nov 3rd. $399 ?

I agree. And, that will make the decision purchasing the tablet even more difficult. I really need to get rid of my Nexus 7 (2013) but I don't want to pay more than 399 for a replacement.
