Google Nexus ban and impact on JB 4.1 updates?

So many of us with GNex's have installed the JB 4.1 ROM floating around. Working great. If Google offers up that "patch" to get around the whole patent thing going on, what does that mean as far as updates to those running manually 4.1 ROMs on their GNex? Will it force an OTA update? Or will it prevent any future OTA updates? Just wondering...
