Google Now, Newsstand borked on Note 10.1 since update

Would love to hear if anyone has found a resolution.

There is google support thread already, but there is no response from Google yet.

If this is for Unfortunately Google Search has stopped, Connect to kies, take firmware update. Worked for me.

I downloaded recent firmware from Samobile and flashed thru Odin. .Everything working fine now

Connecting to kies just says latest firmware already installed. No help at all...

I don't actually ever use Kies so it didn't even occur to me that Kies might present a solution. Frankly, that update should have appeared as an OTA. Kies and Kies Air are reasons to avoid Samsung. They are completely unnecessary and less efficient than other apps with the exception of when Samsung decides to route a critical update in such a way.

Got an update to Newsstand yesterday through the Play Store, and it works fine now. Google Now is still screwed, however.
