Google Now not showing travel cards

I fixed the problem (Android 6 Marsallow only) by going to Settings > Apps > Google App > Permissions. Then, make sure the Location permission is enabled. I was never prompted to allow this permission in the app. It was always disabled, which prevented Google Now from getting my location to calculate the time for the travel cards. Hope this helps.

Cards are back but now I'm no longer getting traffic alert notifications.. Anyone else have this?
