Google Now Voice

Had the phone over a week now and the only problem I've gad is the Google now voice driving me crazy. I use Google now heavily for reminders and I'm embarrassed for someone to hear it in public when it speaks back to me. I downloaded the voice upgrade or whatever it's called but it's still horrible. Any way to change this or is it a Samsung thing?
