Google Now

I received my Nexus 7 yesterday (finally) and love it. One of the interesting features I want to explore is Google Now. The problem is once you password protect the device, there doesn't seem to be a way to call up Google Now. Is the slide to unlock the only way to access it?

I never walk around with an unencrypted/unpassword protected device.

Once it is unlocked you can slide up from the bottom of the screen to display it. Also you can tap the google search bar at the top to display it.

yep I always make sure no one has access to my nudes either.
