Google Pay is awesome

Tapping the phone is not much faster than tapping my credit card.

"Tapping" a card is not a thing here in the US. Some banks supported the contactless cards early on (Mastercard might have been a "champion" of that at the time with MasterPass I think) but those cards have all but disappeared. Now it's either swipe or chip here in the US. I had one of those cards with the tap chip in it, never used it and the card provider no longer sends those out.

I definitely use Google Pay any chance I get. The credit card chip still takes long. Google Pay is very fast.

Costco and their Visa card have embraced it. I tap my card once a week while buying a crazy amount of stuff in bulk so I feel like I am saving money.

I'm still a little reluctant to use it. Funny cause I've used Samsung pay many times.

Mainly cause it's not as widely accepted as Samsung Pay. I don't want to make the mistake of thinking I could use Google Pay and it doesn't work.

Just look for the symbol. If they take the payments and have that symbol it'll work.

Gotta work on not caring what others think :P. You'll most likely never see them again anyway.

Yeah I know. I'll give it a shot.

It's great whenever you can use it though. Online or in apps much better than your actual credit card number.. I use it for both Uber and Lyft, some others. Besides, Google already knows everything anyway.:p

Hmm, online, never thought of that.

It is in probably over 95% of businesses here in Canada. It is odd when tap to pay isn't available.

Google Pay, Apple pay or any pay that uses NFC payment system is same, nothing special

Samsung pay in addition to NFC also use MST technology that will let you use it at pretty much every place even though they don't have NFC terminals. So at this point Samsung pay is most useful.

I use my Amex on Google pay and its much faster for the clerk than Apple Pay, they wish they did not have to jump thru hoops on the register.

I use Amex as well, and it's the same experience on my iPhones using Apple pay and Android phones using Google pay. I just tap on both and good to go. No one has ever had to do anything on the register. May be specific to that particular store? At least I have used at many places and have the same experience on both Apple and Google pay.

Really disappointed to discover my bank isn't supporting Google Pay

I confirmed at bank they don't support Android or Google pay, said I need to use their own app instead. Not worst thing but now I have to unlock and tap the icon which is almost the same.

I've just started using Google pay and so far so good. So convenient.
