Google Pay is awesome

Yeah basically if you see this symbol somewhere (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contactless_payment) you can do Google Pay / Apple Pay. Sometimes they specifically say Apple Pay or G Pay -- but if you see this symbol it should pretty much work the same.

Now if you Multiple cards does it keep 1 as default or swipe between them and choose the one you want to use at that moment?

You can put in multiple and pick a default.

For Google Pay you have to have a default but if you open the app you can choose another payment method for that transaction or change it to default.

My wife has ApplePay (iPhone X) and I use Google Pay (many devices before P3). They are basically the same speed wise. No difference what so ever. It is probably down to the place where you pay has a marginal cell signal and iPhones are better at getting connected. I know a few Whole Foods store near me always have poor cell signal. Many times I can't get my Amazon app to show Prime membership bar code.

I just looked at Apple Pay and you have to go into settings to change payment unless someone knows otherwise. I don't normally use Apple Pay.

I had the S8+ and Samsung Pay was super fast and smooth. I used to ignore Google Pay on that phone.

I now have the LG V40 and I'm using Google Pay and it is faster than any previous phone I used it on. Maybe the V40 has a better NFC chip. I'm not knowledgeable about that but it's been working really well.

Yes you can set one as a default and then swipe to others if need be.

Well I sorted out the issues I had with Google Pay.

In my earlier posts, I was complaining on how slow it was compared to Apple Pay being almost instant.

Basically, doing a factory reset fixed it. I usually have a golden rule to factory wipe my phone after a big update, and the December Security update was a big one, considering how many Pixel fixes there were in there.

Now GP is as fast as Apple Pay, at least the one time I used it at Starbucks this morning.

I still do have one complaint though. I don't like how after it's done, it unlocks your phone and takes you to the home screen. With Apple Pay, when it's done, it stays on the lock screen, so I can just my phone back in my pocket, instead of having to remember to lock it like on the Pixel.

Minor complaint, I guess you can't have everything. At least it's working good now.

Ya that works I guess. hehe

I just worry I might accidentally touch an icon or something and launch an app while I'm putting it into my pocket. So I just have to remember to hit the lock button first.

I'm sure this has been covered. But Google pay always asks for my pin. I then use the fingerprint scanner and it asks me to try again for it to work. I recall that before I just had to unlock the phone, and the app would open and the payment would go through immediately. Is the asking for a pin first something new or recent?

Walking in a place like a service station with cash and walking back out, can get you robbed.

I don't pay with Google Pay but I do use it for store loyalty cards. How do I allow store to. access my loyalty card without going through the steps opening Google Pay clicking on loyalty cards finding the card and clicking on it then clicking on show card code so it can be scanned?

I don't think you can. Loyalty is supposed to be a 2nd nature thing. The main part is for...well.. paying.
