Google: Phone and web calenders don't sync

Does anyone else have problems getting calendars to sync on their device and the web?

If I add a calendar event online, it appears on my device calendar. However, if I add an event to my device calendar, it doesn't appear online. I've tried everything I know to sync the calendars both ways with no success. Any suggestions?

I have a Samsung S3 and Android 4.3 (the calendar problems existed on earlier versions of Android too).

I would like to know the answer to that, too. I would like to be able to have my PC calendar always sync to my phone calendar, I can't seem to find a way to do that, only the reverse.

What calendar are you using? I have absolutely no problem with Google calendar.

After more than a year of trying to figure out how to sync my phone and web based calendar, I finally did today,

Open the Google calendar app on you phone:
From the Menu, click "calendars"
Then click 'display"
Since I have only one calendar, I noted that it was not check marked. So I unchecked my calendars (which was empty) and checked the calendar associated with my Gmail account.
Next, go back to your main calendar (in my case it's monthly, open the menu and tap "Sync."


My calendar is perfectly synced with my web-based calendar now.

I used the Samsung app which DOES NOT SYNC. Hello! Why??
It looks like the Google Calendar app - I assume to drive us all mad!
My calendar app was green and white (like green with envy)
The google calendar app is blue and white.
It works great syncing both directions.
The Samsung calendar app only syncs in ONE direction (to the phone but not back to the web).
Now that I am using the Google calendar instead of the one that came loaded on my MEGA I am syncing in both directions, but!
My old appointments - made with the broken Samsung calendar - will not sync even though they show up in the Google calendar app.

P.S. I like the look of the Samsung calendar better, but I need sync in both directions and why it does not do so is beyond me!!

There is an APP called iCal Import/Export 2.1.
I used it to export the data from "my calendar" on my Mega Samsung android 4.2 into an ics file and then mailed that to myself and imported it into my Google calendar. Simple - Painless - saved me a lot of heartache! Then I deleted the Samsung calendar app with malice a forethought!
