I have apps that don't show up in the my library section of google play when on my pc. In fact, it ends after the letter S. So it doesn't show any of my apps from T thru Z. Figured I'd try out google 24 hour phone support. You answer a few questions and as soon you hit the send button google calls your phone. Robot voice says a tech will be with you shortly and within 60 seconds I was talking to a rep. They verified a few things then asked what the problem was. I explained to the girl what the problem was and out of the blue she asked if the phone was rooted. I said yes, and she immediately told me she can't help me if my phone is rooted. wtf!!! I asked, "because it's rooted? Yup that's googles policy. I knew I was about to go on a rant, so I apologized to her and told her I know she's just doing her job so please don't take anything I say personally. Then I launched into a 2 minute rant starting with "Are you out of your mind? Do you know how absurd that is coming from google support?" GOOGLE...isn't that the company who invented android and kept it open source specifically so people could tinker with it. And on and on and on. I think I forgot to breath. But I never got belligerent or personal and she was actually still there when I was done. I was surprised when she asked if she could email me something so I could rate my experience. I almost fell off my chair. Yeah go ahead, email away! Then she asks if there's anything else she can help me with? I couldn't help myself. "Anything else? Really? Anything ELSE? How can you help me with anything else when you haven't helped me with anything in the first place??? I'm sure you have someone else to not help, so have a nice day..........

So was I wrong for blasting her or is that just absurd?

Yes, you were wrong in blasting her, for at least two reasons:

1. As you yourself said, it's not up to her. There's absolutely nothing she can do, as a first tier support tech, to change the policy. You wasted your breath, her time, and added to her stress for absolutely nothing.

2. Yelling at someone is rarely a way to get what you want. Any sentiment she might have had to help you disappeared the instant you started ranting. Smooth move, slick.

Your correct response should have been: "Rooted? What's that? I never tried to plant my phone or anything... I don't understand your question"
