Google Photo Apps suddenly starts killing battery

Have noticed in last couple days, Google photo apps is killing my battery. Lost 10% in one hour with Photos being 60% of battery usage (and it's not backing up any new photos)!! Have been through clearing cache partition. Stopping/disabling app. In process to see how it works with updates uninstalled to Photos app. Anyone else having this problem? Have sent feedback to Google but who knows.

Welcome to Android Central! Yeah, this is being reported fairly widely. There are a bunch of complaints on the Google Photos app page on the Play Store as well. For now, try uninstalling all updates from Google Photos -- most people say that this temporarily solves it. Then wait until they come out with another update.
