I have been using Photos on my current phone for 2 years with no problem - Samsung Galaxy S9.
It now crashes immediately after opening.

I have deleted Cache and Data
Turned phone on and off
Uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your reply.
I dont think that it was preinstalled.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Photos but still crashing.
I have photos on Internal Storage and Cloud.

I have restarted in Safe Mode but Photos does not appear in Safe Mode??
I did a search so I am certain its not there?

That means Google Photos was not preinstalled.

What happens if you unmount the SD card and remove it?

Oh sorry, I had misread it when you said "Internal Storage and Cloud.":-\

It's running Android 10, right? Try uninstalling all updates to Android System Webview and see if the problem persists.

Thank you. Its running Android 8. I have been trying to update to Android 10 but I get error message "No response from server. Please check Internet connection" My Internet is running.
I dont know how to uninstall updates to Android System?

Go to settings>apps>andriod system webview tap >3 dots upper right corner tap and Uninstall the update

I am ok now. I have updated to Android 10 and downloaded directly to the S9. Photos now works.
Thank you for your help

Great! How did you end up getting the phone to update the system -- using Smart Switch?

No, I didnt use Smart Switch as it wouldnt download the update. I did it directly to the phone through updates.

Ok, good to hear! I wonder why it was giving you a server error before? Perhaps it had to do with the network you were connected to.
