Google Photos - Samsung issue or not?

Hey! On my S22+, I noticed my screenshots are saved in the DCIM folder with the camera photos which is a little annoying, but with my Pixel 4 XL, they were saved within the pictures folder. Is this a Samsung vs Google thing? If I move the Screenshots folder to within the Pictures folder, will they be saved there, or will the phone automatically create a new Screenshots folder within the DCIM folder again?

Thanks!

This has long been a Samsung quirk. I don't think you can change the default location where screenshots are saved.

Thanks! And I just realized this isn't a Google Photos issue... just the camera and directory itself.

I'm used to it, but I do wish screenshots went to their own folder. You may also find downloading videos from certain applications, throws them into the DCIM folder as well. Odd choice.

i use the samsung gallery app for photos and when i take a screenshot, it saves it in a folder it made on its own and titled screenshots

Maybe it's just the S22 5G, but my screenshots can be found in the DCIM folder, then Screenshots folder. Do you not have a Screenshots folder at all?

i misinterpreted what you were asking, but yes, on my S22U the screenshots folder is in the dcim folder when plugging the phone into a computer to see the files.
