Google photos unlimited storage - please confirm most recent information

Hello,

we are going on a road trip in May.

I have the OG Google pixel. I want to confirm if ALL of my pictures and videos (a lot of videos) from this trip will be saved on google photos at original quality for the foreseeable future. i am seeing alot of conflicting information on this topic and would like some clarification.

If it's the original Pixel, yes, it's unlimited for life (true 'for life'). For Pixel 2s, the 'for life' promise is really only for storage as it only counts for pictures taken before 2020.

Google link doesn't mention photos taken on Pixel or Pixel 2

Click on the "expand arrow" under "original quality"

• f you have a Pixel, you get unlimited free storage at Original quality for photos and videos uploaded from your phone. You won’t be able to use “High quality.”
• If you have the Pixel 2, you get free unlimited Original quality storage for photos and videos uploaded from Pixel before Jan 16, 2021. After that, new photos will be uploaded at High quality for free. If you upload new photos at Original quality, it will count against your storage. Photos uploaded before Jan 16, 2021 will remain free at Original quality.
