Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL Pre Order / Shipping Discussion

Just placed a pre-order for a Pixel 2 XL (64 GB, Just Black) moments ago. The order confirmation says delivery is between October 31 - November 2. I can't believe I just spent this much on a phone! :'(

Wow the Stormtrooper must have been made in much lower numbers. Ordered Oct 4th at 10:23AM and have a ship date of Nov 13th arriving the 15th or 16th.

aint nobody got time for it, but i think it would be interesting to chart when orders first opened to when it went out of stock. my order was 25 mins later than you and am a week later for delivery.

Ordered Black 2XL 64G model the night of the 4th. Estimated Ship date is 10/24. The shipping was free shipping and I wonder if it will be via UPS?

I also ordered the BT earphones the next day, 10/5, which are set to ship 11/7 - a pending charge shows up for this. However, for the phone, the original pending charge dropped off after 3 days.

Ordered Pixel 2 kinda blue Verizon from Google store on release date and ship date is Nov 20th. On Verizon website it shows they have stocks with delivery date of Oct 19th. Is the delivery date for real? Is there any different between ordering Verizon Pixel 2 from Google Store vs from Verizon itself?

I'm thinking Verizon has their own inventory. I ordered my black/white XL 64GB on the 4th and got a ship date of 11/1 and my dad just ordered a black XL 64GB today with a ship date of 10/25. Both orders we through Verizon directly. Verizon has always been accurate for me. Usually ships early.

I ordered a Pixel 2 XL Just Black 128 GB from the play store on October 4 at 10:27 AM PDT; got a ship date of 10/17.

Ordered a second (it's a long story), just as above, from the Fi store also on October 4 at 11:32 PDT and got a ship date of 10/18.

I will probably eBay one of these and keep the other. I would give it to my wife, but she is not into big phones.

Yep, that's how it should work. I work for a Credit Union close to our card people and a company cannot have an indefinite hold on your funds until something ships although typically a pending charge is supposed to drop off after 2 or 3 days.

Yeah the pending dropped off mine but it still shows it gone from the available credit spot. So no pending or charge but the available is lower as if the pending is still there. I am just hoping that means stuff is moving forward and maybe I will get it sooner then I think? Wishful thinking ^_^.

Yeah this has to be the case. Dates haven't changed for Verizon at all since pre-orders went live

This happened to me with the 6P. They hit you with a pending charge, it stays for 2-3 business days and falls off. Then a couple of days later to a week, they will do it again, and the same process ensues. It happened to me a couple of times since the ship date was a couple of weeks after the pre-order date.

Try Swappa. They have fees that vary based on sale price, but they are in the $10's of dollars. eBay now charges 10% of the purchase price!!!!! You have to get $100 bucks over retail when you add in PayPal just to get your money back.

Having just learned this, I posted an older Chromebook there.

I'm sure there's more eBay traffic, but for a big release like the Pixel I'd guess it'd get you enough exposure to sell it.

Yeah, but when I looked at Swappa the other day they didn't even have the Pixel 2 in their selection set yet.

I sorta accidentally ( )ended up with an extra Pixel XL last year and sold that on eBay as well. What I found is that few US-based buyers are willing to pay a significant premium over the Google Store price. International buyers, on the other hand, will pay a lot of money to purchase something that they simply cannot buy through the normal channels. My current high-bidder is located in Hong Kong and, let's face it, the Pixel 2's may never be offered for sale there.

FWIW, my goal is not to make a lot of money (would be nice, for sure) but simply to recover my costs.
