Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL Pre Order / Shipping Discussion

FedEx tracking said package delivered. left on porch. Yup, you guessed it - no package. After calling FedEx (they said they start an investigation and call me within 2 hours) I realized that my video door bell with motion detection never alerted me to activity - (THANK YOU RING PRO) and that there would be TWO alerts - 1 when they delivered the package and 1 when it was stolen.

Happy ending - Since I knew it was delivered *somewhere* I started driving down the street looking on porches, then I thought to look for a similar address - they delivered it to wrong address 3211, not 3311. I called them to tell them I got it. If I wanted to be a jerk I would have let them do their investigation and waited for them to call me. - but I truly believe in not doing something to someone else that I wouldn't want done to me.

I knew that someone would pay for my phone, I just didn't want to have to wait again. I'd like to think the guy 10 houses down would have brought it to me, but who knows.

I know that a delivery mistake is something that I would easily make - But I don't deliver packages for a living!

OK. Looks like the unlocked variant starts shipping a week later on Nov 1.

Ordered an unlocked P2 in black and wondering if maybe my ship date of Nov 6 could be changed to a sooner date. It seemed like Google's web site was just giving generic info for shipping times depending on which model/color you ordered. Anyway since a black P2 might be in lesser demand over the colors,,,my twisted logic is hoping for a ship date change. Anyone have that happen after a few days?

128 gb black pixel 2 from the google store, unlocked. Ordered 10/15. Shipped 10/18. Arrived 10/19 with expedited shipping via FedEx.

Something to note, the phone only comes with a 3 foot usb c charging cable. USB c on both ends, so older usb hubs/wall warts won’t work. 3 feet is rather short too. If you are switching from a non usb c device I highly recommend getting some longer cables. Another reason wireless charging would have been nice...

Using a J&D screen protector (the dry apply kind that comes in an 8 pack). Fits just fine, seems good quality.

When did your order? I ordered a 64GB unlocked black on 10/17 and my ship date is October 30–If I had ordered the day before it would have shipped on the 24th.

The Play store shows no shipping date restrictions for the 128GB version right now.

I just ordered yesterday and already chomping at the bit haha. I didn't need the extra storage so saved myself the 100 $. Was thinking maybe after a few days the ship dates might get adjusted since I'm sure they are swamped but some models are in lesser demand than others also.

I checked the 64GB too and it's still showing 2-3 weeks shipping delay. I wasn't planning on buying anything until Black Friday. But then I started reading all of the Pixel 2 forums here and well, my Visa somehow jumped out of my pocket and landed squarely on the Play Store . . .

Just curious...if you are ordering from the Google store....why not get the unlocked model? Even if you have VZW as your carrier....unlocked would seem to have more options.

Comes with the SIM and Verizon's system will identify it properly. There really isn't any difference from the unlocked version except for the free SIM card. The phone itself only has a locked bootloader versus the unlocked one being able to be unlocked.
