You know, that shot is pretty impressive. I'm looking at the hair and I don't see really any spots where it blurred where it shouldn't and didn't where it should...My little girl portrait with her brothers glasses.//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171104/4c90a68a67a9ee26dce280787356420f.jpg
Yup, it's machine learning is impressive.. it used to blur a few of my dreads but not anymore. You know, that shot is pretty impressive. I'm looking at the hair and I don't see really any spots where it blurred where it shouldn't and didn't where it should...
I can just imagine that there is a project manager at Apple or Samsung, looking across at an engineer asking, '... Need a second camera, he said, no other way for portrait mode to work well you were sure of it....'
That's the impressive part... They use the dual pixels for depth mapping, but the heavy lifting is clearly in software. So it can only improve over time... And they'll be able to leverage being able to learn from all those portrait shots to continuously improve it.Yup, it's machine learning is impressive.. it used to blur a few of my dreads but not anymore.
Right?? It's not a dead end and thats what I likeThat's the impressive part... They use the dual pixels for depth mapping, but the heavy lifting is clearly in software. This camera still has a ways to go in terms of quality and performance.. and that's nuts. How much better will it be than it already is in a few months?
