I've seen you over in the imore forums. You still use the iPhone X? I'm moving away from Apple and selling my X, getting a pixel 2. Apple has really rubbed me the wrong way with things they have done to their customers and I'm not one to support that.

Hello. I still have the X for now. I was just discussing this with a good friend of my that is very loyal to Apple. The only reason I still have the X is my family being all iPhone users. I've had a Note 8 since around launch and it is a better experience in every way over the X. Even he told me I need to just sell the X and be done with it. So I that is actually what I'm going to do. Just have not gotten around to putting it on Swappa yet.

While I am a huge Note fan and have zero complaints about the Note 8, I regret returning my Pixel 2 XL all the time. I returned it to get the iPhone X and kick myself all the time for it. At this point I will ride out the year with the Note 8 and see what the Pixel 3 and Note 9 brings.

I think you are making the right call. I don't knock anyone for liking and using Apple products, but that company has always just rubbed me the wrong way. They all do at times, but something about the way Apple is just doesn't feel right. That's just me though. I've had every iPhone since the 4, but never been able to get into the whole ecosystem thing. It just felt like a trap to me.

The Pixel is such a great phone. It runs so smoothly obviously, but the pictures that I got from it are just amazing. My Note 8 is smooth as well and takes great photos too. If I didn't use the SPen so much I'd sell the Note as well and get the Pixel 2 XL again. Plus it still ticks me off that Google got rid of the headphone jack. Especially after poking fun at Apple only 12 months earlier. I don't use it all the time, but it's nice when I do need it.

All these bright ideas apple had (removing the jack, adding a notch) all the other manufacturers knocked on it and now are all copying it! Why, I have no idea. Now the pixel 3 leaks even show a notch on the XL model.

The camera on the pixel is quite incredible. It really amazes me that the portrait effect is all software generated, that's pretty impressive. I would say to get back your 2 XL! I also hope wireless charging comes to the pixel 3.

Yeah I mean I guess you can wait it out until the pixel 3 comes around, I am sure the note 8 is a great device. I've used Samsungs in the past but I want the stock Android experience.

Actually, what is so great about Android is that even though there may be a notch, you can choose to hide it! The OP6 has an option in the settings to remove the notch. I doubt Samsung will add it being that they usually go their own way, they still have their curved displays which no one else has.

The choice will be a little easier when you see security and OS updates happening immediately on the 2 XL while security and OS updates are as much as 6 months late for Samsung.

Currently on the May security patch on my S8, but you're not wrong. I think I was on the February/March patch previously. Not sure. I know it wasn't April's.

Most likely you can use it in notchless mode and it will look almost like the 2XL
