Google Pixel 2 Renders!

I never got the 2 section back but whatever. I use a case anyway. The thing is glass can break even with a case. Even the back glass.

No headphone jack is a killer for me. Waiting to see if they up the waterproofing and also will it have wireless charging.

No headphone jack is a killer for me. ...
Do you charge your phone and listen to music at the same time often? If not, just keeping one of those $4 USB-C to 3.5mm adapters connected to your headphones seems to solve just about any hassle for me ...

Yes I do. That dongle can get easily lost. So as of now my Pixel XL is my last.

I am a bluetooth man myself so for me I don't worry much :P.

If you keep the dongle attached to the headset, then the only way to lose the dongle is to lose your headset. And again it's $4, buy 3.:)

Most of the time I am too. More and more lately, too. Still, for great audio for music, nothing beats a good wired connection. I hate that they are removing the port, but I am fine with it still.

Yeah for people who like that stuff I could definitely understand why it sucks. I never really notice the difference in quality even when I tried Tidal... But to be fair I also only have some "good" headsets but nothing super amazing that most have for that crisp quality.

I went for upgraded headphones a while back and switched to FLAC for audio/CD rips. It will be hard for me to give up the sound quality.

I guess I don't know enough to understand then. Do you lose audio quality by attaching a 3.5mm to usb -c adapter to whatever upgraded headphones you are using?

I don't know! But Bluetooth headsets don't emit audio of the same quality. There are a few wireless in ear monitors but they're very expensive or they're cyborg like round the neck contraptions that look odd.

Right. I'm just suggesting it's possible you can continue to use your current headphones without issue..

Agreed! But it's kind of awkward using the dongle, and I do charge and listen at the same time!!! I suppose it would be less of a problem if it came with standard wireless charging . . .

I too want to keep the headphone jack, but wanting to keep it AND wanting better waterproofing is a bit contradictory. The audio jack is one of the main vulnerabilities for water ingress.

There are probably a dozen phones or more with 3.5mm jacks that are "waterproof" - all the latest Samsung flagship phones for example (S7. Note 7, S8, Note 8, etc)

Galaxy Note Series Headphone Jack, S-Pen removed and still waterproofing!
