Hey guys, trying to consider where I should go after an HTC 10 and like the idea of the Google Pixel 3. Is there any word as to how this will perform on the T-Mobile network and if it supports calls over WI-FI as well as Visual Voicemail? They're important features to me and I'd love to see it on my next device.

Cheers!

It will work 100% on T-Mobile. It has the proper LTE bands, WiFi Calling/VoLTE, and Visual Voicemail will all work.

Beautiful, glad to hear that. I'd heard there had been some issues with WIFI calling on the Pixel 2 and was hoping they got that all ironed out.

here you the list of bands . Also, Tmobile invited VZW customers with their Pixels last year. I will be surprised if they didn't test Capture.JPG

Yup, it even has band 71 (600) on the pixel. I believe only one other tmobile phone has it currently?

I have an original XL on T-mo. The biggest thing you will notice is how much better of a signal you have.

Not sure wjat googly does, but damn. Places where I only had a bar or two, suddenly have all bars. Call quality is fantastic.

I don't see the XL3 Being any different.

Btw, yes giving my original XL to my kid, and getting the XL3

Bars don't really tell the true story. Bars are calculated different in each phone. You'd have to look at the actual -dBm signal per phone to see the true signal.

Yep. On all my Android phones I always used Signal Check Pro. Awesome app that displayed what LTE band I was connected to + the -dBm at the top left of my screen.

Yep that's another way. I'm a nerd about that stuff so liked it easily displayed in the notification bar

True, but at the end of the day, pixels have a much better signal on T-mo than any of the other phones I have had on their network.

I used to have to have WiFi calling as you would walk into the house and lose almost all signal. The pixels do not have that problem

That could just be network upgrades as well. Hard to say.

Lol. Thats true, in the amount of time it takes to make a call on my kids LG, then hang up and dial on the Pixel... They could be doing upgrades. And as I can see the tower, I suspect they are watching me as well and switching upgrades off and on as I switch phones

Just a side comment for those wondering. The Primary service used for Project-Fi (Google's phone service) is T-Mobile. So even though Verizon is the carrier exclusive. T-Mobile is going to be probably the most tested on network by Google during development.

I have that and it seems to be nice to know information.
