Google Pixel shorted me $320 on my trade in of my 512gb P6P!!!

any advise please?...they're emailing me a $50 store credit for ripping me off...the phone was reset and they said it wasn't...never again!...and it took a month to receive/process it...

There was an article about this recently: https://www.droid-life.com/2022/11/14/trading-in-your-old-phone-always-take-a-video/. The author had to keep wrangling with Google support to get the full credit. That's probably all you can do.

These days, before I trade in a device, I take a photo of the phone with the Welcome screen of the setup wizard visible, along with closeups of both sides, to show that (a) it's been reset, and (b) there is no obvious damage. The best way to avoid this is to do trade-ins in person (like at Best Buy), but obviously this can't be done with Google. It's one of the reasons why I decided to get my Pixel 7 Pro from Best Buy.

Thank you B. Diddy...a big lesson learned...I saw google is scamming alot of people on trade-ins...I wiped the phone by unenrolling from the Beta and they said I didn't...ugh...

I took video of me resetting the device and packaging it, including showing the shipping label on the sealed box. I never needed it.

The plus to going to BB is you pretty much get your credit on the spot; the negative is that if you change your mind for any reason, you can't get your old phone back. Going through Google Store, you have a couple of weeks before you have to fully commit.

I generally still prefer the Google Store, despite having had a poor experience with the trade-in process (that's being generous, but it did work out each time), but take a continuous video showing the sim being removed, phone reset, showing all angles of the phone demonstrating no damage/cracks, and packaging the phone all the way through sealing with the security stickers. Definitely recommend that going forward if using Google Store again, as it allows you to provide proof when you call BS if whoever receives it doesn't properly assess it.

It's pretty bad that they took off that much credit for something they can resolve in the span of about 3 minutes.

There was a box to check if you wanted to have your trade-in returned if it didn't receive the preliminary value. If that's not checked, they won't send it back and you're generally stuck with whatever they assigned (though if you can prove error on their part, you might have a fighting chance at challenging the value - e.g., them stating the phone wasn't factory reset if you have a video proving it was).

And you definately deleted all your accounts before wiping it? They might be referring to FRP.

I didn't delete any accounts before wiping, I just followed the wipe instructions that were provided and sent it in. I got the full projected value.

If you wiped phone by unenrolling from beta program the phone is still locked to your Google account. When unenrolling from beta program you need to sign in and remove your Google account information. Any time I've unenrolled from a beta program and I have gone to log back into a phone it always ask for me to unlock the phone via screen lock code or diagram.

If I recall correctly, they cite 3-4 days. That's about how long it took before Google sent me confirmation email of my credit, though I was able to see the amount and that it was in process within a day at pay.google.com, so you might check there.

After several Google chats finally got someone to escalate my case by repeatedly telling them that they have a record of me opting in and then out of Beta Android 13 which wiped my phone...and they finally refunded the whole difference...all it took was perserverence and support from you guys...thank you!
