AC Question

I have a Google pixel XL and I cannot get the weather widget to display my local weather. In the weather widget it has Santee CA weather. When I tap the widget it shows Santee with a small arrow beside it. It allows me to put in my location but not to move the small arrow to my location it stays on Santee. How do I get this phone to display my weather NOT Santee? Please help

Are you referring to the weather widget that appears to the right of the search wizard at the top of your home screen?

If so, then it should always show the weather for your current location. If it is not doing so, my best guess is that you have Location disabled in Settings.

Actually, I have the same problem, and location is definitely NOT disabled in settings. However, the app insists on showing me weather for the next city over. At the same time, Google Maps correctly pinpoints my exact location, right on the dime. This is very annoying.

I have sent feedback to Google via my phone, which handily included a shot of what I'm seeing on my screen. I suggest that anyone having the same problem do the same.

Meanwhile, my Amazon Echo correctly produces a weather report for my location, so it's certainly not that I'm in some dead area in the Twilight Zone. :D

Please go to Settings -> Location then tap on Mode. Make sure it is set to High accuracy and definitely *not* Battery saving.

Settings > Location has always been set for high accuracy, and I've not used battery saving. That was my point. Despite my settings, despite Google correctly pinpointing my location on maps, the weather continues to be presented for a neighboring city rather than my own.

I have the exact same issues with mine! My location on maps is precise and correct. My weather shows two towns over in a township that my city is not even part of. In addition to that a lot of times when I click on something in my feed it fails to open. I have cleared my cache etc and history in Google and it will work for several minutes but when I go to use it again, I find myself having to do the same thing repeatedly.

Is there a chance that the location its showing is the nearest weather station to your location? I don't know about now or the Pixal directly but I use to use Weather Bug when I lived in a smaller community and it showed the weather for the local airport in the next city since that was the closest reporting weather station. Just a thought and more than likely I am way off base here.

I wondered about that myself at one point; however, I have another weather app on my phone and it correctly provides weather information based on my location. Additionally, my Amazon Echo unfailingly reports weather conditions for my location.

It could be that is where that specific weather app pulls from. I live in a small town and one app that I use has my towns weather info and the other app pulls from the metro area 10 miles away. Tried changing it and it wont do so, eve n when I set the zip code location.

This seems to be the most likely scenario in my case. It's not a big deal, because I can easily get the correct weather for my location from another app, but it is annoying nevertheless.
