Google Pixel XL - Preorder /order/shipping thread

I'm a bit nervous that my delivery is scheduled for Black Friday and the FedEx guy will most likely just throw it on my doorstep. I live in a highly congested area with theft of package issues in the past.

Just call FedEx and have them hold it for pickup.

Verizon's lackadaisical attitude on this is really annoying. They act as if they have know clue on any of this. Why are they not leaning on Google to provide feedback.

I tried. They said the shipper (Google) won't allow this to be held for pickup.

I find it hard to believe it could be google. Google wants to push their product with Verizon. Thats the whole deal is they wanted to be in carrier stores to be more mainstream. I can't beleive google would hold back by not giving verizon enough stock.

Id bet theres conflict behind the scenes on something. Or it could be the black friday sales coming up and verizon doesnt want people to return them for the deals.

My QB 128 XL came in today. I'm glad I exchanged the silver ones. It looks much better in my opinion. Gear S3 Classic came in today too. So I'm all teched out for a while

Where did you order the QB from? Haven't seen one anywhere.

I ordered my Google Pixel XL 128gb Quite Black on the 18th of October from Verizon - I received the "Ships on the 26th of November" update after it was supposed to ship on the 11th of November. So.. I decided to do some homework and read forums, etc. like everyone else here and found this to be common, which was well known before coming here if you read any tech news. I made a trip to the Verizon dealer that I have my business account with and they could not provide an update as it just said "PENDING". When I search Verizon's website it tells me it ships on the 11th of November - which as come and past. It also still says pending. Anyone else in a similar boat? I just received my Caseology case in the mail today... I'm so excited to get off of the Samsung train..

Well I agree with the first half of your statement

However I think the Black Friday thing is a moot point if Verizon wanted to screw people said that they couldn't return it for the Black Friday deal, don't you think they would have really pushed to get the phones out earlier. I would have had them into our hands by the 10th that way the 14 day period would have expired on Thanksgiving......

Yeah ur right lol in a sense this all really doesn't make sense anyway. Trying make all this logical is pretty hard. Just seems like a large eff up anyway. My money's on Verizon tho and not google.

Verizon just wants to sell as many Pixels as they can-that's why all these promotions for the Pixel (buy one, get one half off) (trade your phone in and get the Pixel for 360.00), etc., etc. What company wouldn't want to be in good with GOOGLE?

Well something's going on. Google is shipping tons of pixel xl 128gb models while none with verizon. Maybe Verizon is mad that you can unlock the bootloader on Verizons pixel. There has to be some reason.

Well I can get it thru Verizon where I work and I only pay the 2 year contract price. So $420 for the xl 128gb lol instead of $869. IMO it's no way worth $869. If I was going to pay that I would have gotten the note 7 if it was still around or bought the Axon 7 for half the price.
