Just saw this verbiage on Staples' page, and figured it might be of interest to some people who are still on the fence about buying:

For a limited time, get a $25 Google Play credit with activation*

*$25 Google Play credit requires Nexus 7 activation and current Google Wallet account with valid credit card. Offer ends September 23, 2012. Some exclusions apply. Value subject to expiration. Click Here for detailed terms and conditions.

I don't see any similar verbiage on the Play Store page, it just refers to it as a "limited time offer". But if looks like the $25 credit may continue for about another month, then the offer will probably end, and any purchases of a Nexus after that will not have the $25 credit.

PS: This does not refer to expiration of credit for people who have already purchased a Nexus or do so before Sep 23, existing credits expire in June of 2013.

I think the add is stating that the offer to get the $25.00 credit ends Sept. 23. But the use of the credit will not end until June 30, 2013.

Also be aware that the credit is usable on MOST but not ALL items in the Play Store. Exclusions are listed in their Terms. For example, "device" purchases (so no, you won't get a free case.) And my wife tried to purchase the full version of the game "Call of Atlantis" several times, and it said that the payment method was declined yet she was was able to purchase other apps before and after without incident.

If I didn't add a card when it first popped up can I still go back into it and add one later and still get the 25 dollar credit? If so where do I go? Sorry still trying to figure JB out.

If you bothered reading the terms & conditions, you'd find out it ends June 30, 2012.

Sorry, maybe my original post was unclear.

I am aware of the T&C and expiration dates on existing store credits, I was referring to the offer of new $25 credits for people buying the device.

As in, if you go into the store on October 1 and buy a Nexus 7, you will not receive a $25 Play Store credit.

From what I have read, yes. When you add a credit card, it will apply the credit to your Google Play account at that time.
