Google play app on fire HD?

Was wondering if anyone has side loaded the APK file for the google play store on to their fire tablet so they could use all the Google apps on the tablet instead of just Amazon and if so how successful it has been?

it's easy peasy and you can do it all from the silk browser. Runs super smooth.
