Google Play Card Error... "Could not redeem code at this time"

So I received 3 Google Play Gift Cards for Christmas. I scratched off the backs of 2 of them to reveal the redeem codes. I have been trying since Christmas Day to redeem them and I keep getting this same error.... "Could not redeem code at t his time. Please try again later" At first I thought maybe a lot of people were trying to redeem since it was right after Christmas. But now 3 days later it's not funny. After searching it doesn't seem like Google has invested in a good customer support system. Maybe they should buy one up, just like they are doing with other small companies.

Anywho, I would greatly appreciate anyone's help with this as I have $70 in Google Play cards and can't use them!! Argh it's annoying!

Edit: I should add that I have tried to redeem them on both my phone via the Play Store, on my tablet via the Play Store and within a game trying to make an in-game purchase.

Hey open the side menu and redeem your code from there I had the same problem as you then did this and it worked

I have a problem my card as not activated

The card wasn't activated. I had the same problem and called and the customer service told me that the card wasn't activated and you have to get the receipt and go to the cashier to activate it.

I bought a Google play gift card of $100 since August 9 and still can't redeem till date it keep saying can't redeem card code at this time contact Google

Google gift cards are a scam.. I purchased 2 of them. The first one was fixed by support in 5 minutes. The second one support pretty much.. too bad, so sad.. I filled out the forms and sent picks in.. Support said there is to turn around time to have this fixed.. $50.00 in the toilet.

Welcome to Android Central! Sorry you had issues, but what did support say was the problem with the second one? Did you buy them directly from Google, or from a separate retail store (or from some online seller)? Was the gift card intended for a different country from yours?
