This is the one thing I don't like about Google play, when purchasing music.

You buy the song, it makes it available in your play music app. But you need internet connection to listen to. Not good for me in the boonies. You can actually pin it to flash memory on your phone, but for done reason this doesn't work for me well. To be the safest, I download the song via a computer/laptop in Google music, then plug my phone in and drop the songs in my sd card. You're allowed two downloads copies of each song. I back them up on my external hard drive.

Hope this helps. I can send you a screen shot of needed.

Thank you for explaining that. I find it annoying that when I BUY something, I'm only allowed a limited number of copies. Once you have the music on your hard drive, can you make multiple copies of it? Is there a better place to buy music that doesn't have that limitation? It's not that I want to make a million copies but if I get another computer, I don't want to lose everything I've bought.

You can make multiple copies of your purchased music. You can download your purchased music through the desktop play music manager. Specify where you want it saved and then copy all you want. Amazon mp3 is another good option for this. I usually shop around and whichever one has it cheaper, I purchase from them.
