Google play movies

I have downloaded some movies via the Google okay movie store but they won't play on my HTC one

If you have an unlocked (Developer Edition perhaps) phone you are out of luck...

What actually happens? Do you get an error message?

Google movies should work if not then try vlc player app that's what I watch my films through

Yes I get an error message. If I use vlc player where would I find the downloaded movies?

It automatically finds any films on your phone and puts them in a playlist on VLC.
