Google play music not working correctly

Please help. My Nexus four lost connection to my music on Google play server. I can't download music from the server and I cannot reload music onto Nexus 4. There's no option to reinstall/update software or download music. How can I reconnect my Nexus 4 to get music from the cloud.

it won't let me uninstall the app. It says its native to the phone so I can't re-install it.

Did you try to clear the cache of the app?

also sorry, forgot you can't uninstall native apps w/o root
