My Nexus got borked trying to install JB so had to use Wugfresh tool to restore device. I installed Kangorade Black Ice I think it was and Google Play did not automatically install my apps. Did factory reset etc. and installed Hybrid still no automatic install of apps. I guess I need to do something to set this up - can't remember. Any suggestions? Thanks.

A lot of the Jelly Bean source roms don't have this. Those that do have it function intermittently.

However, that rom is ics based right? Was there a checkable option to restore from Google when you set it up?

Few reasons you may have issues....

On your original system, you had to be sure to have checked "Keep this phone backed up to Google's servers".. then after wiping and flashing a ROM you should see a checkbox with that option and one for Restoring from Google, on the 2nd screen after activation.

Its also possible that market restore is just borked in the ROMs you are trying. I never ran Kangorade and by Hybrid I'm guessing you mean the ParanoidAndroid ROM? Not sure on that either.. as I don't use market restore.

You can check the home threads for the ROMs, read the OP and through the last 8-10 pages or so (as they can get long) and see what known issues there may be, and if market restore is one of them.

Thanks. Yes these are ICS roms. Hybrid is an Axiom-AOKP rom at droidhive. Pretty sure I had those check boxes checked in setup. I'll flash another rom tomorrow and see if I get different results.

Okay, so I installed another ROM to see if I had the backup & restore options selected at activation, and yes they are indeed selected. Still no automatic restore of my apps. I would have to manually restore each one. Before my phone got messed up from that JB install, anytime I installed a new ICS ROM, all of my Google apps would automatically download and install after activation. I'm on WiFi, and it's not an issue of the WiFi only setting since that's not checked. I've tried removing and re-adding my account under Settings>Accounts & sync, but that didn't solve anything either. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.

Sorry not sure why it wouldn't be working then. Just as a workaround to have all your apps, I'd say you could load a backup with all of them installed, then grab Mybackup or Titanium Backup and just use to it backup your apps and restore them on the new ROM. I use TiBu religiously, I haven't used market restore for my apps since back on my Bionic days lol.

I used MyBackupPro pre-bork, and will install along with all of my other apps when I get a chance. Hopefully I learned a lesson to save a backup to my computer before the next substantial update :-\ I lost all of my photos as well, though I thought those were backed up on my Google account
