google play placing apps on home screen issue

with the move to oreo, we lost the setting in google play to not have the app place icons on the home screen when we install a new app. ive searched online and saw that it was moved to the launcher settings but wasnt able to find it in the lg launcher. has anyone found where this setting got moved to on the g7?

It's now included in the homescreen settings...long press your screen and a settings menu option should pop up and you'll find it in there (note: I don't have the G7, so you might have to access homescreen settings thru some other process, but the option should still be there).
