Google play store issues

[AC Question]

My google play store has been having a big problem. It started out saying it couldnt connect to the internet, even though every other app connected to the wifi. So, I tried clearing the cache, clearing storage, disabling, then enabling, then clearing updates. After that, it started crashing, even when I wasnt using it. I tried editing my host file, made sure downloads were enabled, tried syncing my google accounts etc. Didnt work. Then I installed the updates again, using an apk file. Any ideas of why this is happening?
