Google Play Store problem - unable to search for apps

Hi Everyone,

I've got a bit of a problem with Play Store on my Galaxy S3. Whenever I search for an app, the page that follows only displays Magazines, Books and Movies; no apps at all. This was never a problem, and I'm currently in Canada, so the Play Store should be fully functional. It was working perfectly a day ago. It's getting to be a bit of a problem as I'm unable to search for any app at all. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy SIII i9300 International Version.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance!

Welcome to Android Central! Try going to Settings/Apps/All, select Google Play Store, and Clear Data, then Force Stop. Now open Google Play again and see what happens.

I noticed that Google Play Services updated today, so I wonder if things might have been a little funny while it was rolling out today. The current Google Play Services version I have is 3.2.25 (761454-34).

Thanks a lot for the warm welcome and your quick response! I tried all your suggestions with no luck. I also tried rebooting the phone as well as uninstalling the Play Store updates to the factory version. It then updated automatically to the same version I had before, and still did not work.

The Play Store version I have currently is 4.3.11, and the Google Play Services version I have is 3.2.64 (814847-36).

Open Google Play Store, hit menu and Settings, then Account--is your Google Account selected?

Hmm. Maybe it's a temporary problem on the server side. I'd give it a day, then check again.

I had the same problem this morning. I tried force stop but it didn't help. Rebooting my device fixed the issue though.
