Dear All:

out of the blue, about 3 days ago, i have a persistent Google Push Service "Critical Notification" that popped up on my S22 Ultra that i cannot get rid of.

if i ultimately right swipe it to get rid of it, it will return within a very short amount of time, like maybe minutes.

when i tap the notification, it doesn't lead anywhere.

i have refreshed the manage apps/update numerous times and there are no new updates.

may i ask what this means please? it doesn't make any sense to me.

Thank you.

Have you looked through your app drawer to see if the icon to the left of the message matches any of your apps?

Thanks for your comment.

It looks like the icon for McAfee anti virus.

What should I do now please?

Thanks.

@claykin and @KPMcClave:

thank you both SO much. you've been amazing!

yes, with your valuable leads, i have been able to fully understand what happened and what those alerts are for.

they are valid alerts but they were actually me logging in via a slightly different method than my usual and customary.

these alerts are very good in that they really do alert one to possible compromises.

thank you both so much for getting me to the answer so quickly and reducing stomach acid.

very much appreciated!
