Google Reader slow to update

I've noticed that Google Reader seems to update the "unread" count very slowly when I'm clearing out my feeds (subscriptions).

Typically, I'll open up a feed, browse the headlines, then hit "Mark all as read" if nothing catches my eye. Then I'll hit the back button to return to my feeds. When I get back to the main screen the unread count shows the same number of unread stories for anywhere from 1 to 5 seconds before zeroing out. This will happen regardless or whether I'm connected via WiFi, 3g, or 4g.

I'm new to Verizon, but when I did this same procedure with the G1 and then the G2, the number of unread stories would zero out before I got back to the main screen.

Sure, this is nitpicking, but to me it's very noticeable....and why take a step backward when upgrading to a better phone.

What's different?

Is it Verizon vs. T-Mobile? ICS vs. Gingerbread? Galaxy Nexus vs. G1/G2?

Thanks!

I noticed this behavior when Reader was updated a few weeks ago and that was on my DInc2 with 2.3 GB. I don't believe it's specific to the GNex at least.

Not having any problems with GReader - use it every day - works great!

I have the same issue since the last update. I'm sure it will get fixed soon.
