Google Related Apps Freezing

This was affecting me too. Did a clear data on all offending apps (and then some). Has worked fine since.

I've been having this problem as well on a non-rooted phone. I saw on another forum to go into your Apps, find "Google Service Framework" and clear the data and cache then reboot the phone. I just tried that and will post back here later with the results.

I've had this same problem on both my EVO LTEs (I'm on my second one since my first one just turned off and never turned on again). It started after the last OTA update. Unrooted on both phones.

I went searching here to see if anyone else has had this problem. Looks like I'm not alone. :)
At least every other day my gmail won't display the emails. When I restart the phone it doesn't fix it, and often Wallet initializes for an hour or more. It does seem to be google app related. This phone isn't nearly as reliable as the OG EVO, and I can't wait to replace it with something else

Does anyone know if this is EVO specific, or if other HTC or any other Android phones are having these same issues? I'm having problems with all of the google apps.

Okay, I called HTC and told them my problems. The technician had me try a bunch of things that didn't work, then he had me do a factory reset, which after 4 minutes is working pretty well. Super annoying, but much less annoying than having a bunch of broken google apps. He also had me put in a number that I didn't write down, but it started with #*#*... I wish I could remember it, but he explained that it was a google check in and it would help google's apps. I'm not sure what that means, but maybe it will help everyone here. I'll see if I can find the number.

I found the number, it's *#*#2432546#*#* and I guess the check in could take up to 72 hours.

I've had this problem recently and it was Wallet. There's another thread in this forum about this issue. As soon as I reset Wallet (and decided not to use it) all the other apps worked fine with no freezing.

Did you reset Wallet and also uninstall updates too?

My frozen apps seemed to appear approximately every couple of days, with no solid reason behind it. So I reset Wallet and un installed updates for it, and so far so good. It's only been a few days but no hiccups yet. I'll try Wallet again when/if they come out with another update that addresses the issue.

The problem will NOT be fixed with a hard reset....

I did that to mine and I am still seeing the same issues. Has to be a software related issue...

same here. uninstall google wallet = problem fixed.

Google Wallet is the problem. I didn't uninstall Google Wallet, but I did disable it in the apps manager. GMail hasn't froze since I made the change. Whereas before, It was freezing up 3 to 5 times a day.
