Google replaced my Nexus 6p with Pixel XL 128gb

I got my Pixel XL 128gig yesterday. I would have prefered a black one but when it's free you can't say much! My RMA instructions were very specific that I have to send back the original battery and they made mention that I do not have to reinstall that battery. So hopefully they refund my money with no hassles.

Battery? I assume you meant to say that they instructed you to send back the Nexus 6P (just the phone)? What are you talking about "reinstall that battery"?

I already replaced my defective battery. Google knew that but in my RMA instructions they stated to send back the original defective battery and there was no need to reinstall it.

Oh, okay. Missed that you had already replaced the battery. My guess is that most people (including myself) didn't attempt that route. Glad Google didn't give you a hard time about it.

I am experiencing bootloop and battery issues with my Nexus 6P, which is out of warranty. I contacted Google customer service but go nowhere with them - they recommended I send the phone to Huawei, which I find unacceptable. I would like to get it replaced with a Pixel XL, like some poeople have managed to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

^^

From what Google said to me (albeit here in the UK) that if you didn't buy it from Google directly (they check via the IMEI) they won't deal with you!

My N6P was replaced, like for like, with a refurbished (looks brand spanking new and a completely sealed box/sealed accessories to boot) N6P 32GB. Plus, it has a full 2 year warranty as well!

They won't do the Pixel XL exchange in the UK as we still have N6P stocks... TBH; That's fine by me!

I had no choice. My screen dislodged from the phone because the battery puffed up. I called Google on it and because the phone was out of warranty they told me to call Huawei. I had read too many bad experiences with Huawei so I decided to replace the battery myself. Then I read all these articles with Google replacing 6P's with Pixels and I tried again with much better outcome.

I'm glad you were able to get Google to replace it. I'm actually dropping my old Nexus 6P off for shipment now. I love my new Pixel XL.

I always had a great experience dealing with Google support when I had my old Nexus 4 and 7. Glad to hear that they're continuing to do nice things like this.

mine has now been a nightmare with Google.. very disappointed this far

Still waiting to get mine. Called Google, they said they would escalate the situation and call me back in an hour....that was 4 hours ago.

And of course, I tap "Post Reply", phone rings, it's Google and they immediately put me on hold.....

Google is refusing to do this for mine. Arbitrary is worse than not replacing at all. They just blame Huawei and say i can spend 200 dollars to replace the battery.
