I wish I could root my nexusIt's a work phone and i need to be locked, unrooted and official build or loose my work emails.
I think all you will need to do is flash a rom with the 4.1 file, you are already half way there if you are rooted and unlocked.I started getting some wicked crashing and reboots about 2 weeks ago so I Flash back with Wug's. It took me back to 4.0.2 as the latest version it considered to be out there and OEM locked. It then grabbed on OTA to 4.0.4. I found out after that it was an app that was causing all the headache. Will there be guides for unlocking and flashing to 4.1 out?

if you're on verizon (I'm assuming you are as you're posting in the VZW gnex forum) your updates (like mine) are controlled by the carrier. This is why VZW devices got 4.0.4 two months late.if your phone is updated by google like mine is does that mean i don't need to wait for the carrier to fiddle around with it?

Also, there's a really great section on XDA for the vzw gnex that's filled with tutorials to get you started. Using the tutorials and google I was able to get the ICS source up and running in my linux VM and compile my own ROM. If you're at all technical (i'm thinking you are as you're here) you should be able to do it no problems. Just read everything more than once and be sure to backup your data. GL!We have plenty of guides and support here if you want to learn!
