Google: Samsung Galaxy Nexus won't get updated to Android 4.4 KitKat

Why would it?
With how little they charge for a new Nexus, I can see why they expect us to upgrade at least every other year.

Good News: Kit Kat runs better on older devices
Bad News: Kit Kat won't come to older devices

It's a Nexus, they should support it more than 2 years. Actually seeing as how the GNex came out in November of 2011 they won't even be supporting it for 2 years. That's pretty pathetic for a "flagship" phone.

That's disappointing, but I guess this day had to come eventually. I'm sure we'll get some 4.4 ROMs from Cyanogen and others, but it would've been nice to have an official one.

For that matter, it'd be nice to have an official 4.3 update.

Should only depends on their strategy. I've always felt that with the Nexus program, Google should lead by example. The example here is that OEMs don't need to think about updating any phone more than 18 months old. Thanks goodness I have resources to buy a new phone every two years.
