Can someone tell me where in settings is the option to disable the google search bar? I have looked several places and can not find it.

Ditto, and when you disable it how do you get the voice search icon on the screen to take its place as someone said they did?

If using Nova
Nova settings>desktop>Persistent search Bar>select to never from the options there

If stock Setup > Settings>Apps I believe you can just disable it there,

If you are using stock, you need to get the Voice Search app. Now, I am not sure the one on the Market works with ICS. I had tried that at first, but it wouldn't work, so someone on a forum (possibly here) had an older version that worked and linked it. I downloaded it and installed it, the only problem was that it had the old UI (which was no big deal, really). But a bit later I was notified that there was an update to that app, and when it updated, there was a new (round) icon and it used the new UI and it works fine. So, that is a long way around to say that the version in the Market may work with ICS now. Give it a shot.

My search key is way better then that search bar. And alot less intrusive

welp, thanks to you guys i finally figured out how to disable my search bar, now it doesnt show up in my apps list either. So how do i re-enable it if i want it back? Thanks in advance.:-[

If you used nova to delete it, you can long press, choose widgets then choose, quick search bar, you can also resize it with a long press so it's not 1x4.

I am running stock currently and was able to find the google search bar in the apps list under settings, i disabled it there. And it shouldn't have been a surprise because you guys told me i wouldn't be able to use that real estate, so now i am wanting to put it back and guess what... I no longer see Google Search bar in settings under All Apps... So how can i re enable it??? keep in mind i am running stock.

Update: Found it, it is under apps still. When you disable something it moves it to the very bottom of the App List. Whew...
