Google Search Issue

I use Go Launcher primarily to get rid of the insipid google search bar but also to have a 5 x 5 desktop. Obviously, I have no use for google search, i use the chrome browser or opera to look up things. Since the jellybean update (I am stock unrooted) google search sometimes just starts up on its own while scrolling in an app or backing out of an app. It is unpredictable, useless to me, and extremely annoying. I hate to freeze it because I will forget to unfreeze later and will screw up my next update.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any cure besides freezing google search?
