My phone is just sitting here and draining. It appears the google services is the culprit. It went from 94 to 84 in the last hour just sitting there. Has anyone else had this issue?

Google Services does all sorts of stuff, both for Google core apps and also used by other apps. For example, I would not be surprised to learn that Life360 relies on Google Services...

It doesn't look like it is eating your battery. It looks like it is just running and nothing else on your phone has really been used so it shows near the top.

Man, I wish I had that good of signal all the time. My battery would last forever. I'm always at 2 bars. G services was keeping your mobile radio active for a period of time, which is the cause for the battery drain. Isolate what is causing that and you'll solve the issue. Does this always happen or just occasionally?

BTW it looks like whatever activated your GPS is very likely the culprit because it was staying awake even after you turned off the screen. Life360?

Any idea on how I can go about doing that?

Have you been using Life360 for long? By its very nature, it is probably a heavy battery user (and a Google Services user).

In fact, here is just one user's post in the Play Store: "Good app drains battery - I love this app. It works very well. Only problem is it drains the battery like crazy."

I've uninstalled it. Let's see if it makes a difference.

But why is my phone draining just sitting there?

Phones will use battery while sitting but I think your biggest culprit is what Newbie said below. That app could be calling on Google Services more than it should which would add to the additional drain.

Nothing too scientific just trial and error. Either one of your google apps was having its data refreshed and there was alot of data coming in keeping your radio active, or Life360 didn't properly handle your session/just eats battery as nature of the beast. You could swipe away 360 from recent apps when you aren't using it, or you could stop keeping activities after you leave the app (dev settings).

So I've uninstalled life 360 and enabled the stop keeping activity feature. I'll report back with the results. Thanks guys.

Just know that some apps will require a complete refresh if you open from recent apps. I noticed my phone was staying awake while screen was off for periods of time, so I've been using that feature for a while and it pretty much stopped that from happening.

Btw, what you guys think about location services? I've had it set to high accuracy. Is that okay?

Just monitor what apps are making use of your location and turn off ones that you don't really need. I keep high accuracy on 247.

Side note, if you are in a state where you do not need your data synced/updated (emails, photos, music), disabling sync will make a big difference in making your battery last longer. Not practical, I know. I use it overnight if I forget to charge my phone or am out late and don't want my phone dying on me.
