Hi, I am based in Europe and I want to order a Google Pixel 2 xl on Google store with a shipment address in US. This phone is not yet available in my country. The address belongs to a friend who is going to travel to Europe soon and will bring the phone for me.

My question is if I give his address as the delivery address can he pick up the package from the post office or receive it at home? Do Google send the package recommended ? Do Google put my name as the recipient? How delivery usually work in US?

Thanks

Miran

If it's sent to his house and you're "not home", he can sign for it. He'll have identification that he lives at that address. Even narcotics that are legally sent to the house (we can have prescribed medication mailed to us) can be signed for by anyone the mail carrier knows lives there (I've had that happen wen I wasn't home).

Picking it up is different - they'd require your identification. If you put his name and address as the "ship to" name and address, he could even do that, pick it up at the shipper's location - but Google wouldn't be responsible if he decided to keep the phone.
