I remember there was an app on the editor's picks of the week awhile back that pushed your text messages to google talk, does anyone know the name of this app?

I'm confused. What's wrong with just using the Google Talk app?
As far as DeskSMS goes, all your messages can then be handled through one app (GTalk) and it also allows you to receive and reply through your computer. It has a setting to receive the texts through gmail or through other chat apps like trillian.

Okay. But Google has desktop access for texts and email forwarding as well. All you have to do is go to google.com/voice.

Ok and? Not everyone uses Google Voice, or wants to use Google Voice or has the ability to fully integrate like Sprint allows.

With DeskSMS, any user on any network can have their regular old text messages forwarded to GTalk or their Gmail. Google Voice also doesn't do pictures, but DeskSMS either does by now or will soon. He was working on it.

Oh okay. I didn't realize texting was because of the Sprint integration. I suppose I took it for granted by assuming everyone could text with the Google Voice app.
