AC Question

google tells me I have 2 viruses that are killing my battery.

When I am on the Internet I will be directed to a new page and Google tells me my Samsung Galaxy tablet 4 7.0 And battery have been infected and damaged. Then it goes on to give me five minutes to fix this problem And it tells me to click the blue button to install an app and remove my viruses, telling me to exit at my own risk. Is this real, how can I tell if I actually have a virus?

Welcome to Android Central! DO NOT TAP ON ANYTHING IN THAT POPUP. It is a bogus scare ad, trying to lure you into installing something that is most likely malicious. I wouldn't visit that site any more--shady sites are more likely to have risky popups like this.

Excellent advice. You may also want to switch to a different browser- one that detects malicious sites (chrome, and I think also Firefox can do this) plus switch to an antivirus (like Avast -free-) which also protects you from malicious sites.
