Google Voice and Carrier Voice mail help

I'm hoping someone can help me with a small issue I have in regards to using both my Google voice mail and carrier voice mail simultaneously. I'd like it were if you dial my carrier number you go to my carrier's voice mail and if you happen to dial the Google voice number then you go to it.. is this possible? The issue is that I'd like to have my Google voice number be used for my business and my carrier number be used for personal use.... HELP!?!? Thanks!

I don't know how to do what you are asking. However, you can set up google voice to play different messages by group. I have my Google voicemail set up so that friends and family hear one greeting and clients and coworkers hear a different one.

The only way I was able to get that to work was to set G Voice to Do Not disturb, then all calls going to that number received my G Voice message.
