Hey all;

I am so far getting ok battery life (about a day and a half) and, I just checked my battery use menu and right now its saying the most battery using app is google voice? is there anyway to calm it down? So far the phone has been great, but I don't wanna have this app eating my battery when I only use it for voicemail.

I have + sprint. Voice doesn't even show up in my list. Try stopping it clearing data. And maybe uninstall reinstall.

Maybe even just sign out.

I know on my epic every once and a while I would notice when I checked partial wake through dialer codes every blue moon gv would pop up as the second highest to android.

Never was a problem though.

Does anyone know if I can set the WiFi to time-out when I am not near a signal. I dont like how it is constantly searching for a wireless signal unless I turn it off.

I think u can also uncheck option "notify when open networks are available. I think that also stops scanning

I don't use Google Voice AT ALL, with the exception of using it for Visual Voicemail. I noticed my battery draining faster than normal, checked my battery usage today and Google Voice has used 21% of my battery today?!? What gives?!?

Uncheck "sync my inbox with google voice" and use Sprint's integration instead.

Yep I tried the google voice integration but that was using up as much battery as my display. Still got really good battery life though.

Not sure if this was designed for me, but I don't use Sprint...I'm on AT&T and have the non-4G version, sorry probably should have clarified that. If I uncheck "sync my inbox with google voice" wouldn't that mean I would lose my voicemail notifications?

Yes you would. Sorry thought you were on Sprint.

But you could do email notifications for voicemail.

Trying to figure that out too, twice GV has eaten up a lot of battery...up to the 70 % range. Both seem to coincide with the sending (gmail) a pic or video. Force quit GV tonight, sent a pic today and the usage increased substantially. Got great battery life yesterday, poor today. Trying to figure it out.
