OK - Samsung hit a home run with their S-Voice app. I really like.... (ok, now I just have to stop typing because I really can't type when I laugh this hard. I hope you can see the sarcasm in the words :-!)
Anyway, does anyone else use the likes of Google Voice search to spawn emails, texts, etc? I use it often enough and I have begun to notice that when I say "Send Email to AGE's office...," the words are perfectly displayed via the voice recognition engine but they are written in the body of the message rather than Google recognizing the key word function (Send Email), diving into my contacts for AGE's office email address, and opening up the dialog for message content. So what I get is:
Send email....
to:
message: to AGE's office
Now, for those who will tear apart my syntax above, please understand that AGE's Office is really <my name's office> and my name is very biblical and easy to pronounce. Think apple. It happens with many different contacts and is hit or miss. I have done this in the wind, in the dead of silence in the middle of the night in my house with the windows closed and I live out in the sticks, in my car, in a bar, both here and far... even eating green eggs and ham. The point is, this worked almost flawlessly every time on my old Eclair/Froyo Galaxy S. Now it's working maybe 35% of the time. And, again, it seems to recognize my words because 98% of the time, it types them flawlessly in the message body and when using the voice function when typing K9 emails, stock SMS, etc.
Yes, for all those who are wondering, my name is Eve
