google voice search on my phone gives me the message that google is off line. How do i fix this??

I can use the search via internet but not on the google voice bar on my phone.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Does this happen on both wi-fi and mobile data?

I had to uninstall google app updates and re-install them and now it works.
